AFRICA’S BASKETBALL CHAMPIONS

D’Tigress became the first African basketball team to make it to the Olympics quarter finals. This historical victory by D’Tigress women basketballers, won them the respect of Africans all over the world. The victory earned them the title, Africa’s Basketball Champions.

However, we can not celebrate the team without celebrating their coach Rena Wakama. That Beauty Queen worked hard and pushed hard. If you remember, some months ago, she made history in Africa. Rena Wakama became the first female coach to win the Afrobasket championship. We celebrated her under the title, “First Female Coach To Win The Afrobasket Championship”.

So, Ms. Wakama set her eyes on the Olympics gold for her girls. They beat the world number six and the world number three., Canada and Australia. And then, they gave the world number one team, a run for their money. That is why they are Africa’s Basketball Champions.

By the time D’Tigress were giving team USA a run for their money, they were at the quarter finals. No African team in the history of the world of basketball has ever reached the quarter finals of any Olympics tournament. Rena Wakama made it happen. D’Tigress women basketballers got that far.

Finally, Africa’s Basketball Champions not only garnered fans by making the world number one win by the skin of their noses. They also earned that team’s respect. So made history, increased their ranking in the basketball world and put themselves on the map.
