The Mothering Queen

A Queen mother has the best of care during pregnancy.  The very best care is taken of her from conception to delivery. Every education including posture, diet and intimacy with the changes inside her is invested. The entire process of birthing a prince or princess comes with a plan, meticulously followed through. So should every mother.  Follow me here at Oreime, weekly. Interact with me. I am a trained mother, empowered through knowledge for natural childbirth. Let’s share.

Let’s begin from your Birth plan. Do you have one? You should. You have about nine months to prepare. How you spend those nine months usually determine your childbearing experience.
How do you want your labour? It includes location, medical, expectations, goals. Let’s share a bit of mine.
When I first got pregnant with my first child, I thought of having a labour that would not make me scream and lose my self control. Like I have seen in movies and on television. I recollected the old tales of grandma about birthing in the farm or on the way to the farm. Others were from my mother in law who was a local midwife.

She taught the positions to take when birthing. And the need to keep calm. I was introduced to Erna Wright by my cousin, who’s more of a mother/older friend, Mrs. Marie Sojinrin,  former principal of Queens College.
I went ahead to read Erna Wright who taught achieving painless childbirth through breathing practice and practice of very simple exercises.
Learning from these three women, I had an extraordinary experience having all my children. I have been passionate about natural childbirth since then sharing with my neighbours and any pregnant woman I met. I had a column in Fame magazine.
This passion has taken me to Kenya, India and webinars in several  cities in U.S.A. as a member of Lamaze International after my birthing years.
They’re into natural birthing without any medical interventions; achieved by diet, postures and self confidence.
I started to study other birthing rituals of other Africans and Indians and I discovered that they also entailed water birthing, walking, squatting birth positions, etc. Now I will be sharing all this with you, so you can learn more about painless delivery.
